Hirtle Callaghan, a Philadelphia provider of outsourced chief investment officers, has named Ranji Nagaswami CEO. From 2010 to 2012, Nagaswami served as chief investment adviser to the administration of Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg for New York City's $150 billion Employee Retirement Systems. Most recently, she had been operating partner and senior adviser at Corsair Capital. Jonathan J. Hirtle, who cofounded Hirtle Callaghan in 1988, will remain as the firm's executive chairman.

Jennifer Segelken has been promoted to vice president of strategic advancement from director of development at the YMCA of Burlington and Camden Counties, Mount Laurel. Linda Davis has been named executive director of membership and aquatics; she had been associate executive director of aquatics. Danielle Wiest has been named executive director of child care and camp.

Danielle Block has been hired as director of health-care services at Melmark, a Berwyn nonprofit that provides a range of services for disabled adults and children. She had been nurse manager of two sites at MossRehab. Michael J. Talarico has been named director of advancement. He had been director of institutional advancement and communications at the Tatnall School in Wilmington. Karen Parenti has been promoted to executive director from senior director of adult services.

Kevan L. Turman has been hired as director of institutional advancement at AIM Academy, Conshohocken. He had been interim vice president of institutional advancement at Lincoln University.

Anthony & Sylvan Pools, Doylestown, has hired William H. Meyerowitz as its director of technology and processing. Meyerowitz worked for IPR International Inc. as its chief information officer.

Paul Katz has been named the 25th president of University of the Sciences, effective Sept. 1. He was founding dean of the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. Prior to Cooper, he had been senior vice president and chief medical officer at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Fla., and chairman of medicine and physician-in-chief at Georgetown University Hospital as well as chief operating officer at Georgetown University Medical Center.

Penn State Abington has appointed Damian Fernandez chancellor of the campus. He had been CEO and head of Ethical Culture Fieldston School, a progressive school with two campuses in New York City.

Kaveh Sharzehi been appointed medical director of gastrointestinal endoscopy at Temple University Hospital. Sharzehi has been an attending physician at Temple since 2013 and is also an assistant professor of medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University.

Villanova University has appointed J. Leon Washington dean of enrollment management, effective Sept. 1. He currently serves as vice provost for admissions and financial aid at Lehigh University.

Ascensus, Dresher, an independent retirement plan and college savings services provider, has appointed Raghav Nandagopal executive vice president of corporate development and M&A. He had been senior vice president of strategy and business development at Broadridge Financial Solutions.

Lincoln Financial Group, Radnor, has hired John Morriss as senior vice president and head of fixed income. He had been head of fixed-income research at TIAA.

JLT Re, a London provider of insurance, reinsurance, employee benefits advice, and brokerage and associated services with offices in Philadelphia, has hired Micah Woolstenhulme as head of risk and economic advisory. He had been managing director of enterprise risk management and actuarial at Guy Carpenter. Before that, he was vice president in charge of product development and strategy at Swiss Re.

Independence Blue Cross, the Philadelphia insurer, has promoted Steve Giuliano to vice president, technology, from platform management. Mark Ottinger has been promoted to vice president, business solutions, from senior director, sales enablement.

Jim Amato has been hired as director of operations for P.J.W. Restaurant Group, a Haddonfield operator of restaurants whose portfolio includes the Pour House in Westmont, North Wales, and Exton; Treno Pizza Bar in Westmont; and the ChopHouse in Gibbsboro. Amato had been regional operations director for the Lehigh Valley Restaurant Group.
