Universal Health to operate behavioral facility for Lancaster General

The $30 million facility is expected to open two years from now, Lancaster General said. The partnership will have a six-member board of governors, with three members from each partner. Lancaster General will lease the land to the partnership. UHS, which already owns eight behavioral-health facilities in Pennsylvania, will operate the hospital.
UHS is under federal criminal investigation for its Medicare and Medicaid billing practices at about 20 facilities in nine states.
Lancaster General examined those situations, a spokeswoman said: "We are confident that none of these issues will have an impact on UHS that would cause it to be unable to fulfill all of its obligations to us and to our community. We do not question the integrity of its founder, leaders or employees."
