Wells Fargo suites get upgrade

Most fans who go to games and concerts at the Wells Fargo Center get to see the arena's luxury suites only from afar. But if you happen to get close to one during the next Flyers or 76ers season, you might notice that some of them look a bit different.

Comcast-Spectacor announced Monday that it plans to renovate 82 suites at the arena's middle level between now and the start of the upcoming Flyers and 76ers seasons in the fall.

There will be new carpets and LED-based lights, as well as removal of some partitions that will create better sight lines toward the floor.

New fixtures in the suites will include upgraded televisions, new chairs and cabinets, and additional cooking equipment.

Around half of the suites due for renovation can't be worked on until after the Democratic National Convention in late July, because they are being prepared for use as television studios. Comcast-Spectacor said there will be enough time to complete work on those suites before the Flyers and 76ers seasons start.
