Unilog, Wayne, a global technology company specializing in e-commerce and enriched product catalogs for the B2B marketplace, has named Silicon Valley technology strategist Ram Gupta to its board. He had been president and CEO, then executive chairman, of Cast Iron Systems. He is chairman of the board of Aryaka Networks and also sits on the boards of Progress Software, FusionOps, Unmetric, Simplilearn, and Uniken Inc. He has guided strategic direction and initiatives for high-growth technology companies, ranging from chip design to application software, such as PeopleSoft, WebMD, and IBM.

Laura Powers, chief marketing officer of Furia Rubel Communications Inc., Doylestown, has been named to the board of the Legal Marketing Association Metropolitan Philadelphia chapter.

Dean Beer, chief public defender of Montgomery County, has joined the board of Transformation Yoga Project, which teaches yoga to prisoners as a treatment option for those with a history of violence, emotional disorders, or addiction.

The project serves Graterford Prison, the Philadelphia Prison System, the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Center, and the Delaware County Juvenile Detention Center. Beer is also of counsel at McAndrews Law Offices P.C.

Edna G. Kynett Memorial Foundation Inc., an Ardmore nonprofit that funds programs focusing on the prevention and cure of cardiovascular disease, has elected Gerald DeVaughn, a cardiologist and assistant professor at Drexel University College of Medicine, to its board of trustees.

ACTS Retirement-Life Communities, a West Point not-for-profit senior-living organization, has elected Tom Clemens and Dil Kulathum to its board. Clemens is an officer of Clemens Family Corp., Hatfield, and serves as president of the family's real estate development group. Kulathum is a managing partner at Tru Capital Investments, Austin, Texas.

Helius Medical Technologies Inc., a Newtown company focused on the treatment of neurological symptoms caused by disease or trauma, has named Huaizheng Peng to its board. Peng is a general manager and nonexecutive director of China Medical System Holdings and was a private-equity firm partner at Northland Bancorp. Also named to the board was Blane Walter, a partner at Talisman Capital Partners, Columbus, Ohio.

American Liver Foundation, Mid-Atlantic Division, Philadelphia, has elected Cataldo Doria president. He is professor of surgery at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University and the inaugural Nicoletti Family Professor of Transplant Surgery at Sidney Kimmel Medical College-Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
