Former 30th Street post office to be sold?

Brandywine Realty Trust could sell the former 30th Street Main Post Office building, which now houses the Internal Revenue Service's local staff, chief executive Jerry Sweeney said Thursday in a conference call.

Brandywine Realty Trust could sell the former 30th Street Main Post Office building, which now houses the Internal Revenue Service's local staff, chief executive Jerry Sweeney said Thursday in a conference call.

The company is evaluating how much the building's sale could be worth to the company as part of a larger asset-disposition program aimed at raising funds for ongoing development projects and to pay down debt, Sweeney said.

The 1930s building could be among the assets that the Radnor-based company sells in 2016, Sweeney said in response to an analyst's question.

Sweeney also said the company plans no new acquisitions through the end of next year.
