Business leaders asked for job input
WEST CHESTER In preparation for a job summit this fall, Chester County officials are asking business leaders what challenges and opportunities they face as they recruit and train their workforce.
The county commissioners and the Chester County Economic Development Council have joined to open an online survey for members of the business community.
County officials will use the results to make sure the Chester County Workforce Summit in October "develops concrete strategies to address critical issues related to the county's current and future workforce," county officials said in a statement.
This summit is part of the county's 10-year economic development plan.
The last major workforce summit in the county was in the late 1990s, said Marybeth DiVincenzo, senior vice president and chief marketing officer at the economic development council.
She said the survey is a "focused and comprehensive approach" to gathering data.
Officials are particularly interested in industries such as health care, manufacturing, energy, bioscience, agriculture, finance, and information technology and communications.
The deadline for business leaders to complete the survey on www.ccedcpa.com is Friday. - Michaelle Bond
