Protocol Security Partners founder and CEO Dave Gentile will step down from day-to-day operations of the company. Gentile, who spent 24 years as an FBI agent in Philadelphia, will remain an unpaid consultant. He will become inspector general of the Delaware River Port Authority. The provider of security and investigative services in Blackwood, N.J., named Radek Lakomy the new CEO. Lakomy, a former member of both the Czech and Israeli special forces, served as a consultant in anti-terror roles for the Czech Republic and Israel's International Counter-Terror Institute.

   Also, Richard Zappile joins Protocol as a partner. Zappile served as chief of police and director of public safety for the Philadelphia Housing Authority until he retired in 2012. He also served as deputy mayor of Philadelphia under Ed Rendell, deputy police commissioner, and chief of detectives for the Philadelphia Police. He is an adjunct professor of criminal justice at Strayer University.

The Center for Literacy, a Philadelphia nonprofit that serves individuals with classes in adult basic education, GED prep, and English as a second language, has named Kenneth D. Waters as director of education. He worked at the Mathematics, Civics and Sciences Charter School as its law academy director/instructor for grades 9 through 12.

Liberty Bell Bank, Marlton, has promoted Kathy Hiltner to vice president of branch administration/business development from assistant vice president of business development.

Leonardo Durán has joined Magna Legal Services, a Philadelphia jury research, litigation graphics and court reporting firm, as general manager of the foreign language services department. A veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, Durán spent over 14 years in the translation industry.

Glenmede, a privately held wealth-management firm in Philadelphia, has named Kent E. Weaver director of client service for Glenmede Investment Management. He had been director of institutional client service.

Deana Calvelli has been appointed vice president of retirement services for the Northeast region of Lockton, a privately held insurance broker based in Philadelphia. She had operated her own consulting firm, Calvelli Consulting.

Linda Chen has been hired as chief financial officer of Coordinated Health, Allentown. She had been CFO of Community Health Systems' Easton Hospital.

Ascensus, a Dresher provider of independent retirement plans and college savings services, has hired Julie Niccum as senior vice president of service delivery in the company's Employer Services and Solutions department. She had been director of pension and savings plans at CenturyLink.

Environmental, energy, land-use law and litigation firm Manko, Gold, Katcher & Fox, L.L.P. has hired Garrett Trego as an associate. Trego had been practicing as a member of Drinker Biddle & Reath's Commercial Litigation Group.

Evolution Consulting & Research, a biopharmaceutical consulting and research firm based in Blue Bell, has hired Joe Ford and Christine Holcomb as senior research consultants. Ford was vice president of insights and analytics at Palio, serving the drug and medical-device industries. Holcomb was a subcontractor to Merck in Upper Gwynedd on the diabetes market-research team.

Kevin Lafferty has been named Philadelphia market manager for Zippy Shell, a national provider of portable storage and moving services. He had been a sales executive with Verizon Wireless.

Michael J. McAtee been promoted to office manager of the Cherry Hill office of Urban Engineers. He had been New Jersey bridge department manager. - Mike Zebe
