The Museum of the American Revolution, Philadelphia, has elected David Urban and retired Gen. John Jumper to its board. Urban, an attorney, is president of American Continental; he also served for five years as chief of staff for Sen. Arlen Specter. Jumper is a retired four-star Air Force general; he was appointed the 17th chief of staff of the Air Force.

The Independence Seaport Museum Board of Port Wardens, which oversees the Philadelphia museum, has elected Peter McCausland chairman. McCausland is founder and executive chairman of the board of Airgas Inc. of Radnor.

New directors include: Anthony N. Brady, president of Somerset Properties of Philadelphia; John C. Devereux, an investor and photographer; Winfield Dougherty, director of marketing for Visual Input Systems Analysts of Valley Forge; Peter Ernst, vice president and family office director of the McCausland Foundation; Max K. Kaiserman, sustainability specialist at Kaiserman Co. Inc. of Philadelphia; Tim McGrath, president of the Health & Science Center of Media; and Steve Ujifusa, an American business and maritime historian.

The Free Library of Philadelphia has elected Judge Pamela Pryor Dembe to chair of its board of trustees. Dembe has been a judge in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas for more than 24 years and currently sits in its Commerce Court.

The Philadelphia Zoo has elected Joanna McNeil Lewis and Paul D. Ridder to its board. Lewis is former president and CEO of the Academy of Music of Philadelphia Inc. Ridder is president of Tasty Baking Co.

Checkpoint Systems Inc., a Thorofare maker of antitheft systems for retailers, has elected Stephen N. David chairman. He is a senior adviser with Boston Consulting Group, has been a director of Checkpoint and succeeds William S. Antle III.

Tim McCarthy, managing partner and founder of Traditions of America, a Radnor-based developer of 55+ lifestyle communities, has been elected chairman of the National Association of Home Builders' 50+ Housing Council.

Multiple Sclerosis Association of America, a Cherry Hill nonprofit health advocacy group, has elected James M. Anderson chairman of the board. He is an attorney in Mississippi and managing member of Anderson Crawley & Burke P.L.L.C.

The Computing Technology Industry Association, a nonprofit trade group, has named Barry Williams to its board. He is executive director, indirect channel sales, for Comcast Business.- Mike Zebe
