Pier 25 is listed for sale

The Delaware River pier where the KatManDu nightclub once operated is for sale. Pier 25, now the site of Cavanaugh's River Deck, has been listed by Colliers International, the brokerage said Friday in a statement. Bids on the 90,400-square-foot property at 417 N. Columbus Blvd., between Waterfront Square and Dave & Busters, are due Aug. 15, according to Colliers. The property would be well-suited for a residential complex with retail, the brokerage said. Colliers also said it was listing Downey's Restaurant, a nearly four-decade-old pub at Front and South Streets. - Jacob Adelman

Phila. firm wins SBA honor

LIA Diagnostics, the Philadelphia designer of an environmentally friendly, ergonomically configured, easy-to-read pregnancy test, took the top prize Friday in the U.S. Small Business Administration's national competition, "InnovateHER: 2015 Innovating for Women Business Challenge." LIA was awarded $15,000 for its flushable test, a first for pregnancy kits. The SBA contest aims to find innovative products and services that help impact and empower the lives of women and families. A total of $30,000 in prizes, provided by Microsoft, were awarded to three finalists, among 15 to vie in a live-pitch competition in Washington. Boscov's picks new CEO

Jim Boscov was named CEO of Boscov's Department Stores L.L.C., the retailer said Friday. He is the third generation of the Boscov family to lead the Reading-based 43-store chain. Earlier this year, chairman Albert Boscov made public his intention to name Jim Boscov as his successor, and the appointment was recently ratified by the Boscov's board. Albert Boscov will retain his title as chairman and remain active in the company. Jim Boscov, in addition to his new role as CEO, will continue to serve as vice chairman of the corporation. Boscov's operates stores in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, and Ohio. It has announced the opening of a 44th store in the fall in Meriden, Conn.

Live Nation consolidating

Live Nation is moving its Philadelphia-area headquarters into a Bala Cynwyd office complex formerly occupied by Keystone Property Group. The Beverly Hills entertainment giant signed a 10-year lease for 12,000 square feet of office space at One Presidential Boulevard, according to a statement Friday from Keystone, which is leasing the property to Live Nation. The move will let Live Nation bring its four local affiliates under one roof. - Jacob Adelman
