Clay Thorp has been named executive chairman of the board of PhaseBio Pharmaceuticals Inc., a Malvern developer of biopolymer-based drugs. Thorp is general partner at Hatteras Venture Partners and a member of the founding team for research informatics company Synthematix, genomic biosensor company Xanthon, and Novalon, a drug-discovery company. He is co-founder and former chairman of PhaseBio.

Thorp is general partner at Hatteras Venture Partners and a member of the founding team for research informatics company Synthematix, genomic biosensor company Xanthon, and Novalon, a drug-discovery company. He is co-founder and former chairman of PhaseBio.

The Maternal and Child Health Consortium of Chester County, West Chester, has elected Kristin Molavoque president of the board, succeeding Beverly Moyer. Molavoque is an associate at law firm Donze & Donze in Kennett Square. Elected as members of the board were: Julie Gates, a practicing physician assistant; Uva Coles, vice president of student services at Peirce College; and Yolanda George Turman, a consultant for Colgate-Palmolive.

Reed Smith L.L.P., Philadelphia, said the following attorneys were reappointed to positions with the Philadelphia Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Executive Committee: Amy McVeigh, an associate in the firm's commercial litigation group, was appointed to serve as liaison to the business law section; Cary Davis, an associate in the commercial litigation group, will serve this year as liaison to the support center for child advocates; and Mark Vogelbacker, an associate in the intellectual property group, has been appointed to continue serving as liaison to the intellectual property committee.

Women Against Abuse Inc., a domestic-violence advocate and service provider in Philadelphia, has elected Ana E. Nunez to its board. Nunez is a professor of medicine, director of the Center of Excellence, and director of the Women's Health Education Program at Drexel University College of Medicine and associate dean of urban health equity, education, and research.

James Sargent has been appointed to the board of the Chester County Historical Society. He is partner and chairman of the appellate advocacy group and litigation department at Lamb McErlane P.C., West Chester.

William F. Kinsley has been appointed to serve as chair of the Electronic Health Record Association Privacy and Security Workgroup. He is an enterprise architect at NextGen Healthcare Information Systems L.L.C., Horsham, a wholly owned subsidiary of Quality Systems Inc.

Robert Kane, Eastern Pennsylvania regional president at First Niagara Financial Group Inc., Plymouth Meeting, has been elected to serve as an at-large representative on the Pennsylvania Bankers Association board of directors.

Michael L. Kleiman has been elected to the Judiciary Committee of the Montgomery Bar Association. Kleiman is a founding member of Bleczinski, Kleiman & Klein L.L.C., King of Prussia, and focuses his practice on family law.
