CHE Trinity Health, the national Catholic health system formed in May 2013 from the merger of Catholic Health East, based in Newtown, and Trinity Health, of Livonia, Mich., has shortened its name to Trinity Health.

While the last trace of the Catholic Health East has disappeared, Trinity continues to employ 500 in Newtown, the same number it had in Oct. 2012 when the merger was announced, the company said.

Trinity's Philadelphia-area hospitals include St. Mary in Langhorne, Our Lady of Lourdes in Camden, and Mercy Fitzgerald in Darby. - Harold Brubaker
