The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia said it will develop a nonprofit milk bank to provide donated human milk for hospitalized infants on the University City campus, the hospital said. The goal is to open the bank late next summer.

The Human Milk Banking Association of North America, which lists 17 locations on its website, the closest in Massachusetts, will help CHOP with the project, CHOP said. CHOP currently ships donated milk to another location for pasteurization and processing. Having the milk bank on site with streamline that process, the hospital said. - Harold Brubaker
