On the Boards

Ellen Bailey, a partner in the Philadelphia office of law firm Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott L.L.C., has been appointed to the board of directors of the Richard Stockton College Foundation.

Moore College of Art and Design has elected Meg Johnson and Janie Gross to its board of trustees. Johnson is a former advertising and communications writer; Gross is an artist, author, designer and photographer.

Lourdes Health System, Camden, has appointed Kathleen Stone to its Health Foundation Board. Stone is the central New Jersey regional president for Susquehanna Bank.

Retired Aramark executive Barbara A. Austell joined the board of Philadelphia public broadcaster WHYY. Austell had served as senior vice president of finance at Aramark after spending more than 20 years in investment banking.

Stradley Ronon partners Christopher Connell and Ranan Well have been elected to Law360's 2014 editorial advisory boards for banking and mergers and acquisitions, respectively.    Counsel Stephanie E. Sanderson-Braem was recently appointed to the board of the Cherry Hill Public Library.

Chris McKee, managing partner at Devon Financial Partners L.L.C., Wayne, has been appointed to the board of the ARC Community Trust of Pennsylvania, a King of Prussia nonprofit that supports both people with disabilities and caregivers in their efforts to attain and maintain a preferred lifestyle for themselves or their dependents.

Natural Lands Trust, a Media nonprofit land-conservancy group, has named John B. Hannum 3d and Robert K. Stetson to its board. Hannum is executive secretary of the Pennsylvania Horse Breeders Association. Stetson is an investment officer and senior partner at Veritable L.P. and also serves on the executive committee of the investment firm.

Women's Therapy Center, a Philadelphia-based nonprofit organization providing affordable counseling and psychotherapy services with a feminist orientation, has elected officers for the current year:

Leslie Zavodnick, a director in the finance division at Independence Blue Cross, president; Joan Gordon, a nonprofit consultant, vice president; Yinyin Wu, an MBA candidate at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, treasurer; Erin Hadley, a psychotherapist in private practice, secretary, and Jessica M. Anthony, an associate in the commercial litigation practice group at Ballard Spahr L.L.P., compliance officer.

The following new members also were named to the board: Kelly L. Bassett, a psychotherapist in private practice; Eli Green, certified sexuality educator and doctoral candidate at Widener University; Laurice Smith, an attorney with the Philadelphia Volunteers for the Indigent Program, and Julie L. Spalding, health-care management consultant with DGA Partners. Alison Gerig, the center's executive director, continues to serve on the board.

Gov. Corbett has nominated Albert Mezzaroba to the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board. Mezzaroba was president and CEO of Lower Bucks Hospital in Bristol Township, president and CEO of the Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority, and chief counsel to the Office of the President of Philadelphia City Council.

The Bond Club of Philadelphia has elected the following officers:    Joe Evancich, senior vice president, taxable fixed income, at FTN Financial, vice president, operations; Joseph Derdarian, vice president at Haverford Trust Co., treasurer, and Noah Fisher, an equity trader at Bryn Mawr Trust Co., secretary

Arno Therapeutics, a Flemington, N.J.-based clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company working on products to treat cancer, has named Randy H. Thurman vice chairman. Thurman has served as a senior adviser and operating executive in private equity with a focus on the life sciences. He was previously founder, president and CEO of Viasys Healthcare Inc. and was chairman and CEO of Corning Life Sciences, which spun off both Quest Diagnostics Inc. and Covance Inc.

Meyer Simon has been named chairman of the general practice committee and elected to the board of directors of the Montgomery Bar Association. He is an attorney at Rubin, Glickman, Steinberg and Gifford P.C., Lansdale.

Lantern Theater Co., Philadelphia, has elected Stephen Field to its board. He has an independent market-research and consulting practice in Philadelphia.

Mayor Nutter and Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce president and CEO Rob Wonderling appointed the following members to the board of Philadelphia Industrial Development Corp., a nonprofit, public-private economic development corporation:

Michael A. Brown, president and CEO of Environmental Construction Services Inc.; Rick Grimaldi, partner at Fisher & Phillips L.L.P.; Suzanne S. Mayes, chair of the public and project finance group at Cozen O'Connor; Elizabeth A. Murphy, vice president of external affairs at Peco, and Keith Orris, senior vice president for corporate relations and economic development at Drexel University.

Elissa G. Topol has been elected chair of the Main Line Senior Care Alliance, Saunders House and Bryn Mawr Terrace, Wynnewood. She succeeds David R. Dugery, president of IMX Medical Management Inc., who will remain a board member. Serving as vice chair is Robert E. Bergen, a consultant in the mechanical contracting industry. Phillip D. Robinson, president of Lankenau Medical Center, has been named a board member.
