Robert B. Bodzin, a managing partner of the law firm Kleinbard Bell & Brecker L.L.P., was appointed to the board of Horizon House Inc., a human-services provider.

Walter W. Borginis 3d was named national treasurer of the National Association for Home Care & Hospice. He is executive vice president of finance and administration and chief financial officer of the Visiting Nurse Association of Greater Philadelphia.

The Metropolitan Philadelphia Chapter of the Legal Marketing Association named the following officers:

   Andrew Laver, business-development analyst at Duane Morris L.L.P., is president.

   Richard Alonso, marketing consultant at Alonso Marketing, is immediate past president.

   Jessica Sharp, cofounder and principal of Maven Communications, is president-elect.

   Elizabeth Catterall, principal of Catterall Communications, is secretary.

   Damien Enderle, chief marketing officer at Saul Ewing L.L.P., is treasurer.

Members at large include Kelly Breslin, director of marketing operations at Dechert L.L.P.; Laura Powers, chief marketing officer at Furia Rubel Communications; and Kimberly Alford Rice, principal at KLA Marketing Associates.

Alfred S. Dandridge III, vice chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association, has joined the board of directors of Play On, Philly!, a tuition-free after-school program that uses music education to help develop the skills necessary for students to succeed in life. Dandridge is an attorney at Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis L.L.P. and chair of the firm's securities practice group and chief diversity officer.

Moorestown Friends School has named Gregory Paw and Tom Heitzman to its board of trustees. Paw is a partner with Pepper Hamilton L.L.P. Heitzman is executive vice president and chief operating officer of Whitesell Construction Inc.

Attorney Frank D. Allen, of Archer & Greiner P.C. in Haddonfield, has been appointed chair of the New Jersey State Committee of the American College of Trial Lawyers.

Melissa M. Boyd was elected to serve as vice chair of the Montgomery Bar Association's Family Law Section. She is a partner at High Swartz L.L.P., Norristown.

Public Interest Law Center of Philadelphia, an independent nonprofit group, elected Ellen Meriwether to its board. She is a litigation partner with the law firm Cafferty Clobes Meriwether & Sprengel L.L.P.

Nina Baroness von Maltzahn has been named chair of the Curtis Institute of Music board of trustees in Philadelphia. She is founder and president of the Fundación Retoño (Sapling Foundation), a nonprofit that works to develop better opportunities for children at social risk in Uruguay, and also serves on the boards of several German organizations, including the American Academy in Berlin and the James Simon Foundation.

Von Maltzahn replaces H.F. "Gerry" Lenfest, who announced in September his intention to step down May 31 but to continue his involvement with Curtis as chairman emeritus and as a member of the Bok Foundation Board. (Lenfest is a member of the ownership group of Interstate General Media, parent company of The Inquirer, the Philadelphia Daily News, and Philly.com.)

The Philadelphia Chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services has installed the following officers and members to its board: Susanne Hanson, director of business development for Constructure Management, president; Melissa Rysak, associate vice president for Pennoni Associates, president-elect; Andrew J. Katz, marketing manager for Intelligent Infrastructure Systems, treasurer; Jessica Thornton, marketing and business-development manager at Wick Fisher White Consulting Engineers, secretary; and Aimee Lala-Milligan, commercial district revitalization manager for Cornerstone West, immediate past president.

Firstrust Bank, Conshohocken, named Richard E. Meyers to its board. He is executive vice president of the bank.

The National Conference of CPA Practitioners installed as president Edward P. Caine, president of EP Caine & Associates, Bryn Mawr, and as secretary Stephen Mankowski, owner of Quantum Management Services. Mankowski also will serve as chair of the Tax Policy Committee.

Michael Zyborowicz, CPA, a director in Citrin Cooperman's Philadelphia office, has been elected treasurer of the board of directors of the Legal Clinic for the Disabled, a Philadelphia-based nonprofit that provides free legal services to low-income people with physical disabilities and to the deaf and hard of hearing in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties.

Endo Health Solutions, Exton, named Arthur J. Higgins to its board. He is senior adviser to Blackstone Healthcare Partners, the health-care team of the Blackstone Group, where he focuses on product-based health-care acquisitions. Before joining Blackstone, he was chairman of the board of management of Bayer HealthCare A.G. and chairman and chief executive of Enzon Pharmaceuticals.
