Dean Amann was promoted to chief operating officer from Northeast regional president and executive vice president.

Marek Bakun was hired as chief financial officer. He had been CFO of Mattamy Homes Ltd., a Canadian home builder.

John Evans was hired as corporate controller. He had been vice president and Northeast regional operations controller at Lennar Corp.

Margaret McManus has been named executive director of graduate studies at La Salle University. She had been associate dean for the School of Arts and Sciences, a position she will continue to hold.

Steve McGonigle has been hired to the new position of executive director, career and employment services at La Salle. He was with AT&T Inc.'s global business sales and marketing organizations.

JM & Co., a King of Prussia retained executive-search firm, has hired Cory Korbisch and Elba Lopez as executive-search consultants. Korbisch had been the branch manager for United Rentals Inc., and Lopez was a principal at Kenexa Corp. Claudette McCarron also was hired as marketing director. She had been marketing manager at HOK International Ltd. in London.

Reneé F. Bergmann has been hired as counsel in the Cherry Hill office of Becker Meisel L.L.C.

Salveson Stetson Group Inc., a Philadelphia retained executive-search firm that specializes in senior-level talent placements, has hired Mary Fran Flood and Jennifer Nehr as search consultants. For the last five years, Flood has focused exclusively in the life-sciences sector, one of Salveson Stetson Group's largest practice areas. Nehr had been vice president at Search Innovations Inc.

Molly O'Leary has been hired as communications manager at the Cherry Hill law firm of Flaster/Greenberg P.C. She had been a senior account executive at Maven Communications and was special assistant to the secretary of the commonwealth at the Pennsylvania Department of State.

David Gottlieb has been promoted to senior accountant from staff accountant at the Center City accounting firm Shechtman Marks Devor P.C.

Mark N. Suprenant has been hired as a partner at Deeb, Blum, Murphy, Frishberg & Markovich P.C., Center City and Princeton. He was general counsel and corporate secretary at Wawa Inc.

Healogix L.L.C., a Horsham custom-marketing-research consultancy for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, has promoted Tim Edbrooke to president and chief operating officer. Company founder Harris Kaplan will remain chief executive officer. Edbrooke joined Healogix as chief business officer, responsible for the company's sales and marketing.

Bruce Sher has been hired as vice president of business development for Tangent Energy Solutions, a Kennett Square firm that is developing sustainable-energy strategies. He had been senior vice president of business development at Viridity Energy Inc., Philadelphia.

CRF Health, a Plymouth Meeting firm that specializes in gathering patient-reported data for clinical trials, has appointed John Harrison as scientific consultant, providing advice on patient- and clinician-reported outcomes in clinical central-nervous-system studies. Most recently, he was principal scientist at CogState Ltd.

Sellers Dorsey, a Philadelphia national health-care consulting firm, has hired Jim Jones and Jeff Harris as senior consultants. Jones is former deputy administrator for Wisconsin's Division of Health Care Access and Accountability. Harris is a former principal with the firm Spivey/Harris Health Policy Group.

UGI Corp., Valley Forge, has named Robert F. Beard president and chief executive officer of UGI Utilities Inc., its regulated natural gas and electricity-distribution subsidiary. Beard succeeds John L. Walsh, president and chief operating officer, who has also been serving as president and chief executive officer of UGI Utilities since July 2009. Walsh will resume his duties as president and chief operating officer of UGI. Beard was vice president for marketing, rates and gas supply at UGI Utilities.

Airgas Inc., the Radnor distributor of industrial and specialty gases, has promoted Ted R. Schulte president - Airgas Refrigerants from division president. Martin Wehner has been promoted to president of Airgas Specialty Products from vice president of sales. - Mike Zebe
