PPL reports record a.m. electricity demand
Heat-pump owners take note: PPL Electric Utilities, the Allentown power company whose 1.4 million customers include many households that heat with electricity, reported exceptionally high demand this morning as temperatures dipped below zero in some parts of the region.
Heat-pump owners take note: PPL Electric Utilities, the Allentown power company whose 1.4 million customers include many households that heat with electricity, reported exceptionally high demand this morning as temperatures dipped below zero in some parts of the region.
Michael Wood, a PPL spokesman, said the utility set a record morning peak of 7,432 megawatts today. The company did not anticipate problems meeting the demand.
