to its board. Wife of the late F. Eugene Dixon, a former Fairmount Park commissioner and philanthropist, Edith Dixon has long been an advocate of the preservation of natural space in the Greater Philadelphia region.

The Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corp., a nonprofit that promotes Philadelphia and the region, has appointed Bill Fitzgerald and Craig Carnaroli to its board. Fitzgerald is general manager of the Doubletree Hotel Philadelphia. Carnaroli is executive vice president of the University of Pennsylvania.

The Urban League of Philadelphia, a nonprofit civil rights organization, has elected Robert Keyes chairman of its board. He is vice president and general manager of Enterprise Holdings' Philadelphia Group. He succeeds Otha Spriggs 3d, who has accepted a position with Boston Scientific Corp. in Massachusetts.

Tina Waters has been appointed vice chair of the board. She is senior vice president of human performance with the national customer operations division of Comcast Corp.

PPL Corp., the Allentown utility company, has named Steven G. Elliott to the company's board of directors, effective Jan. 1. Elliott is senior vice chairman of BNY Mellon and had served as chief financial officer.

The Philadelphia Police Foundation, a nonprofit, independent organization that strengthens and enhances the mission of the Philadelphia Police Department by providing resources not covered in the city budget, has elected six new members to its board:

Frank G. Bardonaro Jr. is vice president and managing director at Terex Americas, Westport, Conn.

William Bergman is vice president/chief of staff of Temple University.

Joseph L. Carlini is CEO of McKean Defense Group L.L.C., Philadelphia.

Joan McDonald is senior vice president, enrollment management, at Drexel University.

Roseann Oleyn is publisher of Philadelphia Weekly.

Frank M. Staves is private wealth manager at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, Philadelphia.

G. Michael Howard has been appointed to a one-year term on the board of the Office Business Center Association International, a nonprofit trade association representing office business center owners and operators. He is president and chief operating officer of American Executive Centers.

Cynthia Boyer has been elected to the board of trustees of the Brain Injury Association of New Jersey. Boyer is the senior clinical director of brain injuries of Bancroft, a nonprofit Haddonfield organization that serves individuals with neurological disabilities.

Thomas E. Bajus was named a member of the board of trustees at Peirce College, Philadelphia. Bajus is managing director of the retail municipal trading division of Philadelphia-based Janney Montgomery Scott L.L.C.

Children's Literacy Initiative, a Philadelphia-based nonprofit group that provides teachers with professional development in reading and writing instructional practices, has elected the following to its board:

Elsa Perez is managing director, global custody services, of PNC Global Investment Servicing.

Daniel F. Hayes is a senior managing director at Griffin Holdings L.L.C.

John McGovern is director of curriculum and instruction services for Bucks County Intermediate Unit 22.

Jagmohan S. Raju is the Joseph J. Aresty professor of marketing at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the chairperson of the marketing department.

The Building Industry Association of Philadelphia, a nonprofit trade association established in 1937, has elected the following members to its board:

Brian Emmons is division assistant vice president for Toll Bros.' Philadelphia City Living Division.

Carrie Nase is an attorney with the Center City law firm of Fox Rothschild. Her practice focuses on representing developers, educational institutions, builders, and property owners in connection with real estate matters.

Martin Jay Tackett is principal architect at Tackett & Co., Center City.

Jonathan Taylor is president and CEO of Modular Manufacturers Group L.L.C., Glenside.

Pathfinders Inc., a Wayne staffing firm serving the mid-Atlantic region, has appointed John J. Swanick and Frederick J. Kohm Jr. to its board. Swanick is senior managing director of LECG L.L.C., Devon. Kohm is senior managing director of LECG's insurance and reinsurance services practice.

Mark LeChevallier has been appointed chair of the Research Advisory Committee for the WateReuse Research Foundation, the research arm of the WateReuse Association, an Alexandria, Va., nonprofit. LeChevallier is director of innovation and environmental stewardship at American Water Works Co. His appointment is effective Saturday.

The New Hope Historical Society elected five members to its board of directors:

Leslie Crilley is a registered client service associate for UBS Financial Services in Newtown.

Ralph Fey is founder of Ralph Curtis Fey Architects, Doylestown.

Thomas J. Smyth is a hospitality educator currently working with Kingsborough Community College, City University of New York, in Brooklyn. He also is inn keeper/chef/educator for the Cottage in New Hope.

Barry Ziff is a longtime volunteer for many New Hope organizations, and a member of the New Hope Borough Planning Commission and New Hope Borough Revitalization Committee.

Roy Ziegler is an author and freelance writer, secretary to the New Hope Borough Revitalization Committee, and vice chair of the New Hope Park and Recreation Board.

Janet Fleetwood, associate vice provost for faculty and academic development and a professor of community health and prevention in Drexel University's School of Public Health, has been appointed to the National Advisory Board of the Higher Education Recruitment Consortium, a group of over 500 colleges, universities, teaching hospitals and research entities.

The American Heart Association, Philadelphia, has elected James J. Eisenhower to its board. He is a partner at Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis L.L.P. and chairs the firm's government and regulatory affairs practice group; co-chairs the government investigations, corporate compliance, and criminal defense group; and serves on the firm's political action committee.

Deborah F. Cohen, a partner in the Philadelphia office of Pepper Hamilton L.L.P. and chair of the firm's commercial insurance and reinsurance group, has joined the board of the Food Trust, a Philadelphia-based nonprofit working to ensure that everyone has access to affordable and nutritious food.
