SunGard, a Wayne software and information-technology services company, named Robert Woods chief financial officer. He succeeds Michael Ruane, who remains with the company as chief financial officer of its Availability Services business. Woods was CFO of Ikon Office Solutions from 2004 to 2009.

Devon Financial Partners L.L.C., a Wayne firm specializing in wealth preservation for families and business owners, named Steven Earhart partner. He was a branch manager with AXA Financial L.L.C.

Shire P.L.C., the British specialty biopharmaceutical company with U.S. headquarters in Wayne, appointed Gary Sender vice president of finance for its specialty pharmaceuticals business. He had been chief financial officer and vice president of finance and administration with Tengion, an East Norriton biotechnology start-up company.

Glenmede, a Philadelphia investment and wealth management firm, named Jason Pride director of investment strategy, a new position. Pride had been director of research at the Haverford Trust Co.

Haverford Trust, Radnor, promoted Timothy A. Hoyle to vice president of research, where he will lead the firm's research team. He had been research analyst.

Aria Systems Inc., a Media provider of on-demand billing and customer lifecycle management, promoted Tom Dibble to chief revenue officer from vice president of business development.

Absorption Systems, an Exton company that helps pharmaceutical and medical device companies understand possible drug interactions, hired Ramesh B. Bambal as director of scientific operations. Bambal had been section manager for the drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics department at GlaxoSmithKline.

Massimo Cristofanilli was appointed chairman of the department of medical oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center and will hold the G. Morris Dorrance Jr. endowed chair in medical oncology. He is founder and served as executive director of the Morgan Welch Inflammatory Breast Cancer Program and Clinic at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.

Eric M. Horowitz was named chairman of the department of radiation oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center and will hold the Gerald E. Hanks endowed chair in radiation oncology. He is a clinical researcher and physician at Fox Chase and is national president of the American Brachytherapy Society.

Peco, the Philadelphia utility, named Romulo L. Diaz Jr. vice president of external affairs. He had been associate general counsel.

Anthony Gay was named associate general counsel in the Exelon Corp. legal department; Gay had been assistant general counsel. Exelon is the parent of Peco.

General counsel Paul Bonney assumes the additional responsibility of vice president of regulatory affairs.

The Advertising Specialty Institute, a Trevose media and marketing organization, named Rich Fairfield executive vice president. He remains publisher of ASI's six magazines.

Melinda Ligos was appointed senior vice president. Ligos previously worked as editorial director at Nielsen Media in New York City.

Dan O'Halloran was named executive vice president of distributor services from senior vice president of distributor services. He joined the company as an account executive.
