Question: As we are quickly expanding and bringing on new hires, what can I do to create a strong team atmosphere on a day-to-day basis?
Answer: Creating and maintaining a strong team environment is pivotal to the success of any company – both small and large. There are many ways to do this, but I feel it is most important to engage in dialogue and communicate openly with employees across all levels and positions. By doing so, you will create a more positive and comfortable workplace and empower employees to be leaders. In the spirit of the holidays, a great team building initiative is to participate in activities that help give back. For example, the Torcon team works together to prepare and serve dinners at the Ronald McDonald House and we collectively participate in local philanthropic events such as the annual toy drive to support the Camden Rescue Mission. We have found this to be an effective way to enhance our company culture, while also helping those who need it most.
