US Airways starts Halifax, Anchorage flights

US Airways launched new nonstop service today from PHL to two cities that I don't believe have ever had it before from the Philadelphia area. The nonstops are to Anchorage, Alaska, and Halifax, Nova Scotia, both spectacular summer-vacation destinations. The Anchorage flights will operate through the summer but the Halifax flights are planned to be year-round.
