US Airfways to add 500 pilots, flight atendants

More good news! US Airways said today it would add 500 flight crew positions next year, mostly to replace those who are retiring or resigning. The airline said the 420 flight attendant and 80 pilot jobs would mostly be filled with employees furloughed in the past. Many of them will be based at its PHL and CLT hubs. For most of the last decade, employment at major airlines has gone the other direction --- down, without much hope it would go up again. But the industry is growing a bit again. So welcome back, folks!
