UPDATE: United flight diverted by cockpit fire

I am traveling, in Chicago at a business travel conference, and not able to post as much as I would like, including this one from Sunday night: A United flight from New York to Los Angeles was diverted to Washington Dulles because of a fire in the cockpit that was extinguished before the plane landed. No injuries were reported. I don't post many flight diversion stories because they happen daily, but this one will get much more scrutiny than most of them. Read more here.
