American changes standby rules; that will be $50, please

American Airlines, in a move last week, changed its policy on allowing standby passengers to take an earlier flight at no extra charge. Unless you're an elite-level frequent flier or full-fare passenger, it will cost $50 now. Some other airlines have a similar charge, others do not. Read more about it here.
