Today's Winging It column reports on airport officials' preliminary look at using the abandoned concrete that once was Route 291 to build a new lot for drivers waiting to pick up passengers. As you may have heard (how could you miss it?) police have stepped up ticketing of motorists who park on the I-95 ramps waiting for a cell phone call from family or friends. The effort has increased use of the Bartram Avenue waiting lot but isn't there a better place for the idling zone? Yes there is, and you can learn more here.

How about an area near the old Overseas building where a NEW parking lot sits??

I read your column in Monday's Inquirer with some interest. I used to work in Sharon Hill, and know where the cell phone lot is. I'm one of the few who do know where it is. Rather than focusing on the cell phone lot, I think that the area planners should focus on better signage for the airport itself. I must use the airport in Columbus, Ohio to visit my daughter. The signs for the airport there begin on the interstate several miles away. At each junction of the interstate there are signs showing the way to the airport. In Philly, well if you don't know to follow I-95, you are out of luck. On I-76, you seem to be on your own until you close to the airport. Never mind the cellphone lot, the airport itself seems to be hiding! Thanks for reading,
