Airline alliances: Good for you or anti-competitive?

Alliances between airlines that help them market their services together and sell each others' tickets are popular with the industry and they want to see no barriers thrown up to continuing their growth. Airlines asked the Transporation Department in a letter to keep them in place and let them grow.
