Ground workers at Southwest, an airline known for generally cordial labor relations, have asked for a federal mediator to help them reach a new contract after months of talks with management haven't done the job. Read more here.

    oh oh.. new higher contract means higher price tag on travel or..maybe Southwest will have to put in place that mean word " ALA CARTE PRICING"....Stay tuned...YHS

    Funny thing is that over the past few years as every other carrier filed Chapter 11 and restructered their labor, Southwest actually became the airline with the HIGHEST paid workforce. These guys(and gals) have figured most things out in a sensible manner, and it wouldn't surprise me to see them pull another rabbit out and stay the industry leader.
