The warnings are dire about what Hurricane Ike is expected to do to the Texas Gulf coast. Continental and Southwest, both with hubs in Houston, are likely to be only the first airlines with disrupted operations. If you're traveling anywhere in the middle-South or Southwest part of the country in the next few days, keep an eye on the forecasts and look for alerts from carriers allowing you to change your plans. Naturaly, this storm is so far away it's getting little news coverage in the PHL area. But here's what's being reported elsewhere for those traveling.
