Keith Olbermann Honors Kyler

POSTED: Tuesday, September 7, 2010, 11:05 PM

The carbonated host of "Countdown" on MSNBC invited me on his show this evening to discuss my column today about the death of Kyler VanNocker. Thanks, Keith, for caring.

There's a dangerously high number of people in this country who think KO is loony, Glenn Beck is their savior, and Sarah Palin should be President. Distressing...

Keith may be loud at times and over bearing but he has three things that the Becks and Palins will never have and they are compassion, intellegence and common sense. May God Bless that little boy and his family. What must be understood is that this is commonplace every day where Health Care providers routinely deny benefits that their members are entitled to. They continue this until the memeber either gives up or the patient dies as in this case.

Lets put the Repugs back in power so insurance co.s can deny health care to need children, drop/cut your coverage/treatment when you get sick even if you have never missed a payment (sounds like a death panel to me), and put a system back in place that raises the deficit!!!

shouldn't this be about remembering Kyler and his family in their time of grief. But, while we are on the subject, way to go lefties making it into a Palin/Beck issue. MORONS!!!!!

About this blog

When my phone rings here at the Daily News, nine times out of ten the caller begins the conversation with, “Yeah, so what happened was…”.

Because this is Philly, the caller doesn’t say, “My name is Bob” – or Mary – “and I wonder if I could have a moment of your time?” Philadelphians are too direct for that. They just say, “Yeah, so what happened was…”, and then tumble into a tale they think oughta be shared with a wider audience. I love getting these calls (even the ones where it becomes clear, after 30 seconds, where the caller sowed the seeds of his own misery), because they give me chance to connect with fellow citizens in a way that no other job allows. Well, okay, no other job for which I’m remotely qualified.

That’s why my blog is titled “So What Happened Was…”. To me, it’s the quintessentially Philly way of saying, “Once upon a time.” When I hear it, I know a good story is coming. And I can’t wait to see how it turns out.
