Snow: Projected totals bumped up
Official forecast now calling for 6 to 12 around Philly.
Obviously prompted by this morning's surprisingly vigorous snowfall, the National Weather Service is adusting its accumulation forecasts upward.
It's now saying that up to a foot could fall before it's all over before daybreak tomorrow.
That would make sense, given that so far up to 4 inches has been reported in the Pennsylvania suburban counties.
It appears that the heaviest amounts will be focused right along the I-95 corridor from Wilmington to North Jersey.
The morning snow should be winding down soon, with light, mixed precipitation taking over the rest of the day.
Once roads are plowed and treated, they should be reasonably navigable, given that temperatures are hovering around freezing to a bit above.
The heaviest snow still is due late in the day or right after dark, when an additional 4 to 8 inches are anticipated.
