Snow -- Evening Update

Forecast holds; here it comes.

At 6, snow had arrived as close by as Lancaster, with mixed precipitation in Dover.

The forecasts have been eerily unwavering since the weekend, and save for a few tweaks, hasn't changed much since this morning.

The best estimate right now is 12 to 20 inches, with perhaps a tad more in a few places, but you get the idea.

One thing to watch out for, said Gary Szatkowski, the meteorologist in charge of the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, is that the snow may come in two batches. When you get up tomorrow, you might even wonder what the big deal was about.

A lull that could last four or five hours is expected in the morning, but it will pick up again before noon, and this one may pack near-blizzard winds that will reduce visibility.

Joe Bastardi, an Accu-Weather meteorologist, said that totals could go up to 2 feet.
