Snow, it begins

Changeover has started a bit ahead of schedule.

In the early going, it appears that the winter storm warnings for Bucks, Chester, and Montgomery Counties are going to verify.

The National Weather Serviced noted that the models this morning appear to be trending colder than they were yesterday.

It also appears more likely that Philadelphia will end up with at least some measureable snow for the first time since 1979.

It's now all snow in parts of Chester and Montgomery Counties, and that trend looks to continue southward and eastward.

It's certainly possible that 4 inches could accumulate as nearby as the Main Line and even the elevated portions of the city, including Chestnut Hill.

That 4-inch mark looks safe farther north and west, and the Lehigh Valley could get creamed.

We'll keep you updated.
