Sneeze Meter: Extreme times on hiatus?

Historically, tree and grass counts back off in mid-June

Tree pollen counts were "high" with the Tuesday-morning count, according to the Asthma Center, but well below some of the extreme levels of last month.

Grasses also were "high."

Allergy sufferers will be relieved to know that from mid-June on, tree and grass pollen has stayed well below "extreme" and "very high" levels historically.

Next in the pollen lineup would be the ragweeds, which typically get going in mid-August.

Mold spores (not to be confused with indoor molds) are year-round nemesis, and they were "very high" Tuesday. The highest counts typically occur in midsummer into fall.

For more on mold spores, see this article by the Asthma Center's Dr. Donald J. Dvorin, the region's National Allergy Bureau pollen counter.

Tuesday's pollen report:

Trees: High, moderate to severe symptoms.

Grasses: High, moderate to severe symptoms.

Outdoor Mold Spores: Very High, moderate to severe symptoms.
