Rain: So much for the dry spell

Another decent soaking imminent.

So far in 2012, despite over an inch of rain earlier this week, Philadelphia's rainfall is about 80 percent of what it should be.

Yet again, however, a substantial rain is about to overspread the region, and this one looks to leave an additional half-inch or more. Here's the latest radar image.

It could rain hard enough for awhile to cause some road ponding and/or minor flooding, according to the National Weather Service.

For the first two months of the year, the official rain total in Philly came in at 4.43, or 1.25 below normal.

The rain that fell on Tuesday was the heaviest since way back on Jan. 12.

The weekend is going to be on the chilly side, relative to recent times, but temperatures should rocket back to the 60s by the end of next week.
