His forecast was terrible.

Groundhog only human

Today marks six weeks since Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, signaling six more weeks of winter.

Let's leave aside details such as precisely what part of the country would be covered by the forecast or how one would go about establishing verfication scores.

Any way you cut it, it was an awful forecast. We we got, essentially, was six more week of premature spring.

In short, the rodent's outlook was at least as bad as some of the seasonal outlooks produced by some of the best minds in meteorology.
