Severe thunderstorm warning

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for the western half of Chester County and parts of Montgomery.

And the National Weather Service has just posted a severe thunderstorm watch for the entire region until 11 p.m.

An 18-mile long line of storms, from about 6 miles north of Reading to 12 miles south, was pressing toward the region.

the line was moving east about 20 m.p.h., and the weather service says strong storm activity should show up around Glenmoore in about 25 minutes.

Just before 4, a 38 m.p.h. gust was reported in Lancaster.
