Dear The Ladies,

Hey. How's it going? Hope you enjoyed your Valentine's Day. Speaking of disappointment, how're the fellas treatin' ya? Eh, sorry to bring it up. At least you can take solace in the fact that you're not imagining things. It really is that difficult to find a guy in Philly. The Atlantic has published a new piece analyzing Census data that indicates that there's a big education gap between the genders. They even organized the proof into a fancy graph.

Which brings us to today's relatively thin pool of college-educated men. The next chart shows the percent by which college-educated women outnumber men in the 15 largest American metro areas. Even in and around Seattle, the most balanced city, there are more than eight graduated women for every seven graduated men.

See? Science.

We're sorry you couldn't find a hot date to feed you chocolate-covered strawberries and participate in an enlightening discussion of bipartisan politics and the societal allegory that makes The Hunger Games more than just summer blockbuster about teen love and glorified violence.

Just know that no matter how many Valentine's Days you spend searching for Mr. Right, Your LL Bean Boyfriend lives on the Internet, so he can always be Mr. Right Now.

All Our Love,

Philly.com

xxoo

This is great news. Let's hope that the colleges keep cranking out lots of smart women. As for guys---well, women want bad boys anyhow--stupid, violent, lazy, on parole, unemployable--so they pretty much get what they have been wishing for anyhow.

Okay, which one do you want liberals: this barely readable article or the "war on women"... can't have both.

Philly's smart women really need a man who's good at one thing, and you know what it is.

Females score higher than males in standardized testing - MATH and Reading. They go to college more...get more college and graduate degrees. Yeah...the 'war on women'. But let's whine that there aren't enough female engineers!!! It's not fair...

Single, male, employed, grad degree, don't live in my mothers basement, and don't even own a functioning game system!

Fond memories of a woman lawyer whose boyfriend torched her center city condo and then jumped to his death. Bad boy he was and she fell fo rhim.

Just a few months ago, Philly was among the top 9 cities for singles (men and women) according to some magazine/web site!!

There is always some kind of a top or bottom list anywhere anytime! None of them means anything unless you know the details of how and what they collected as information and how they actually calculated the actual scores!

This time they are using census data but no consideration to ethnicity/religion/sexual orientation/what people look for in a date etc!

maybe these gals are single because no normal guy wants to listen to the feminist bull these broads learned in women's studies 101. newsflash, ladies: guys like women who are down-to-earth. they don't want to be brow-beaten with the feminazi, man-hating pabulum you learned at Bryn Mawr. and some make-up helps

Who the heck is the girl in the photo? Nice looking woman. If her brains and demeanor match her beauty, she's a winner.

And what percentage of these college educated women are receiving degrees in science, engineering, medicine, or business (excluding marketing)? Yes, women are more likely to get college degrees because they are much less likely to want/get jobs in a trade like mechanic, HVAC, or construction, which require more physical labor.

If these women were actually smart, they wouldn't just eliminate a whole subsection of potentially honest, decent hard working guys because they don't have college degrees. That would be like someone with a doctorate limiting themselves to only others with doctorates.
