Revealed: Star Wars' Emperor's yawner of a first name

There's actually some buzz on the Web about a revelation from the next Star Wars movie:

Emperor Palpatine has a first name, says Wookieepedia, and it's one of the following:

(a) Chauncy
(b) Mr. Maleficent
(c) Digger
(d) Bubba
(e) Sheev

If you guessed Sheev, you're right.

We think it's Alderaan-ian for Steve.

The website io9.com finds it "RIDICULOUS."

Yeah, right, like Chewbacca and Obi-Wan and Boba make sense.

Rebecca Pahle of TheMarySue.com writes that she came up with 10 that are better.

We'll give her Abernathy Von Fartsworthy, "Rich Chocolatey" and SNORTBLAT.

Not "Blade." Maybe Frank.

Chris Lough at Tor.com kind of likes how it's similar to Shiva, the Hindu god of change and destruction.

Wouldn't Shiv or Shivers have been even better?

Or maybe Sidney, since he's also Darth Sidious, and could be "Sid" for short.

We don't care, as long as Sheev doesn't mess with Sheena Parveen, NBC10 meteorologist.
