Watch: Miked-up Chip Kelly compliments Eagles fans at open practice

Ordinarily, Eagles head coach Chip Kelly is a man a few words. But put a mic on the guy during an open practice, and all that apparently changes, as the above video shows.

Ordinarily, Eagles head coach Chip Kelly is a man of few words. But put a mic on the guy during an open practice, and all that apparently changes, as the above video shows.

Taken earlier this month, the video features a miked-up Chip Kelly's comments made throughout an Eagles open practice held earlier this month at Lincoln Financial Field. Portions of the video aired Saturday during halftime at the Eagles-Packers game.

The result is a glowingly different side of the typically restrained Kelly on display, with the Eagles coach alternately tossing passes, meeting military members, and discussing the rabid Eagles fanbase.

"Good crowd," Kelly says at one point.

"This fanbase is committed as hell to us," replies defensive coordinator Bill Davis.

"They're awesome," Kelly concludes.

Which, of course, proves one thing: Chip Kelly only speaks up when it's really, truly important.
