Video shows puppets skateboarding in Philadelphia

There are things in life that happen, and beg the question, “why is this so funny?” A slow-motion video montage of puppets skateboarding around Philadelphia is one of those things.

There are things in life that happen, and beg the question, "why is this so funny?" A slow-motion video montage of puppets skateboarding around Philadelphia is one of those things.

Filmed by Andy Rothwell, "Monster Thrashin'" shows pink, purple, green and multi-colored puppets skateboarding off a puppet-themed spray-painted ramp and going airborne. City landmarks like LOVE Park, the Art Museum steps and South Broad Street in front of City Hall all got the skateboarding puppet treatment in the curiously entertaining, nearly three-minute long video.

Rothwell, a Philly transplant, composed the first random video as part of his "new hobby" in Washington, D.C. in 2011. That time featuring monster trucks, the video was filmed as if it were a music video for D.C. band Vetiver's new song "Wonder Why."

Some puppets nail the landing, some, not so much, but all are equally engrossing.
