VIDEO: First 'Daily Show' without Jon Stewart is weird, still hilarious

Jon Stewart stepped away from his desk at The Daily Show for the summer to direct a feature film, which set things up for correspondent John Oliver to step in as the substitute teacher. On Monday, Oliver kicked the season off by acknowledging the palpable awkwardness of the situation and offering up some playful jokes about being British. Oh, and he had to tackle that whole "the NSA has been spying on everyone" thing.

Does he nail the landing with a Michael Douglas oral sex joke? Only hell yeah.
