Joss Whedon is the cinematic genius who wrote Toy Story and directed 2012's The Avengers, which went on to gross $1.5 billion (with a "B") world-wide. As Whedon and company dig their heels in and work to bring Iron Man and the rest of The Avengers back to a theater near you, they're going to have to shut down and destroy some parts of Seoul, South Korea.

Whedon took some time out of his busy schedule of rearranging traffic and the CGI assistance to reduce entire blocks to rubble to apologize to the people of Seoul for the inconvenience his filming may cause in their daily routines.

We're excited to be filming in your city. We're—um—going to mess it up a bit and inconvenience some people for a few days and I apologize for that. I know what that's like. I live in Los Angeles, it happens to me all the time and it's not fun. I hope that it will be worth it. We love this movie. We love your city and having the two of them together will show the city to the world in a light that I don't think it's been shown—certainly not in America.

Aw. How sweet. Here's to hoping Whedon never changes. And, while you're eagerly opening the little flaps on your The Avengers: Age of Ultron Advent calendar, bide your time wisely by watching Whedon's recent adaptation of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing. "Lovely" simply doesn't do it justice. [h/t Reddit]
