A guy in Alabama (of course) set out to uncover a serpent hiding in his wood pile days after his wife reported first seeing the snake. Soon, the man found himself face-to-face with a three-foot copperhead snake. Upon realizing it was a copperhead, the guy took his machete (of course he has a machete) and turned that thing into Ned Stark with a swift three or four strikes.
Once he'd chopped the snake's head off, he whipped out his smartphone to document its body writhing around because, in the future, YouTube views are the only human currency. The tail is slithering back and forth in front of the now-detached head when OH MY GOD THE SNAKE'S HEAD COMES ALIVE AND BITES ITS OWN BODY.
Billiter said he did not want his 4-year-old son or dog to get bitten.
"As soon as I looked it up and saw it was a copperhead, there was no choice," he said. "It had to die."
It took four or five blows with a machete to decapitate the three-foot snake, Billiter said.
"I wanted to take a video of its body moving without its head and within a couple of seconds it bit itself," Billiter said. "That's some crazy stuff right there."
This is not OK. The end is nigh. Zombie snakes will do us in. [AL.com]
