Sheena Parveen moves to primetime, but 'Hurricane' Schwartz is still Chief Meteorologist at NBC10
NBC10 meteorologist Sheena Parveen has replaced Glenn "Hurricane" Schwartz on the station's nightly news broadcasts. Schwartz has moved to the day side and remains the station's Chief Meteorologist, a title he's held since 2002.
Station spokesperson Kathleen Burke declined to comment on the change.
Parveen, a Florida State alum, came to Philly from Good Day Tampa Bay. Viewers began to see more of Parveen last year after Schwartz underwent open-heart surgery. [h/t The Philly Post]

Parveen makes my barometer rise. Hurricane makes me cringe. Kweb- I read that Glenn wanted to stop wearing the bowtie but his contract requires it. I kind of liked him because he was unique and different from the rest. Parveen is obviously more attractive but blends in with the rest of the weather "babes". Glenn had a nice run, but in entertainment and sports, there is always someone waiting to step in when you are injured or sick. wfs0868
I don't see what all the fuss is about this girl. There certainly are better looking woman on the air. MWW-54
T*** Magee beats out the Bowtie. Getting snow forecasts right is more important than trying become Playboy's Top Ten Female TV personalities. TV stations fall victim to ratings instead of providing solid information. Drew777
This was no surprise. As soon as she came on I figured it was to boost ratings. I have no problem with that. And let's be honest, weather reports are so over-rated and can be done in a one minute segment. They get more air time than sports now. Really, do we need to know what's happening in areas of the country? Who cares if it's snowing in Colorado or raining in Seattle. Leave that to the national broadcast. jayarby
I am not sure how this helps NBC's news ratings. They need new anchors not new weather people. This will not help there ratings a bit. BigE
Check out the weather girls in latin countries and southern california, OMG they are AMAZINGLY HOT. Sheena is attractive, but there are some weather girls out there that could melt antarctica. warrentheape
So does this mean Sheena's tops will be even tighter than they are now? mac609
Sad to see so many people here with snap judgements based entirely on the fact she is an attractive woman. If you knew anything about her, you'd realize she is the most educated of all the meteorologists in Philadelphia with a degree in meteorology and a minor in math from FSU, as well as a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist seal from the American Meteorological Society. No other meteorologist in Philly has this certification. MacMike
T&A outsells some guy in a bow tie any day of the week. It's all about diversity and inclusion in the eye of the employer, and not the ratings. Honestly. FletcherT
Kate Bilo at Cbs 3 is the "Hottest" meteorologist on Philly TV. snowman100
Hurricanes moles are almost as big as rosemans....any correlation? Friend to All
First NBC10 dumps Steve Lake, now they demote Hurricane? - If they are trying to drive away all of their viewers, they are doing an excellent job of it. phillydude
When schnozola Parveen and skeletor big-gums Tynan with her are considered the standard-bearers for beauty or "hotness," you know you're in dumpster-town, Philadelphia. They wouldn't last a day in a real "big city." They might make "Queen of the Bowl-a-Rama"...maybe. mel-b
She understands the math behind the forecasts. Trust she works the numbers out on a scratch pad before she tells you what it is.... Ned Williams
