Alligators are lazy as hell. So, scientists at Cal State San Bernardino have to continuously tap the backs of their tails to get them to walk on the custom treadmill in their lab. Why are they making alligators walk on treadmills?.So that they can learn how dinosaurs breathed. Duh.

But it’s worth it, because watching crocodilians exercise might teach us how dinosaurs breathed. Crocs and dinos are distant cousins and likely share some physiology. [Wired]
