Another day, another 18-year-old woman auctioning off her virginity on the Internet. A Russian woman has reportedly arranged to lose her virginity to the highest bidder after auctioning it off online. Known by the nickname "Shatuniha," the woman posted to the online auction site 24au.ru, writing that she was, "in urgent need of money" and ready to sell "the most precious thing" she possesses.
A man named Evgeniy Volnov reportedly won the auction with a bid of 900,000 rubles, which is nearly $28,000.
The young woman wrote that she'd meet the winner at a hotel in the Siberian city Krasnoyarsk with documentation confirming her virginity and, after the cash was handed over to a friend, she'd stay and do the sex for the first time.
The police in Krasnoyarsk appeared satisfied the deal was genuine and said it broke no laws.
'This situation is neither an administrative nor a criminal violation,' said a spokesman. 'Nor does it fit into a description of the 'Prostitution' clause from the Code of the Administrative Violations'. The police said they had 'no right to give a moral assessment of girl's actions'.
It appeared that the same woman had offered to sell her virginity on another site at the age of 17 in April 2013. At the time, she said: 'I am 17, very soon I am turning 18. I want to urgently sell my virginity. I want to sell it at a very expensive price to someone who can properly appreciate it. [The Siberian Times, h/t NYDN]
