Kelly Ripa fights shark in 'Sharknado 2'

South Jersey's own Kelly Ripa had a campy cameo on Sharknado 2: The Second One, which had its bloody debut Wednesday night on the Syfy network.

She stomped on the head of a hammerhead, and cohost Michael Strahan catches a second shark that has invaded the set of his TV talker,  Live With Kelly and Michael.

It was just one of many madcap scenes, as a superstorm starts filling the skies, streets and subways with gigantic sharks. Tara Reed, for example, is getting sucked out the door of an airplane, when a cloud-surfing shark bites off her hand. Her prosthetic hand has a circular saw, thanks to advances in modern medicine.

Trapped on top of a cab by rising shark-infestive waters, Fin, the ironically named hero, has no choice: He has to play Frogger, hopping across the backs of sharks to safety.

TV meteorologists talk about "inches of sharks" and Today host Matt Lauer helpfully shows how to stab a shark to death.

Otherwise, chainsaws are the preferred method of shark slaying.

Here's the video with Ripa, who was born in Stratford, Camden County, and Strahan, former defensive end for the New York Giants.
