Radnor's Lee Daniels gets hip-hop drama on Fox

Director Lee Daniels (what up, Radnor?) is set to become the latest Hollywood hot shot to take his talents to the smaller screen thanks to a forthcoming hip-hop family drama slated for Fox. Director Lee Daniels (what up, Radnor?) is set to become the latest Hollywood hot shot to take his talents to the smaller screen thanks to a forthcoming hip-hop family drama slated for Fox. Daniels, who you probably know from last year's The Butler or 2009's critically acclaimed Precious, will again team with Danny Strong, the scribe behind The Butler.

Reports indicate that Empire will feature original and licensed music set behind the lives of a family of hip-hop royalty.

Fox has announced they will move forward with the pilot for Empire, the duo's family drama set in the world of hip-hop. Strong wrote the pilot, which Daniels will direct. The show will feature both original and contemporary music, like a rap Nashville.

What's Bow Wow up to these days, anyway? [Vulture]
