The president of the Association of Prostitutes (yep, it's a thing) in Belo Horizonte, Brazil says that prostitutes are beginning to enroll in English classes in advance of the Confederations Cup and the 2014 World Cup (that's soccer, youse guys).

According to ESPN, Cida Vieira says that she expects at least 300 of the Association of Prostitutes' 4,000 members to enroll in the courses. The organization is hosting the classes and searching for volunteers to teach the prostitutes the language.

"It will be important for the girls who will be able to use English to let their clients know what they are charging and learn about what turns them on," Vieira said by telephone.

The pros may be learning English, but the Olympic venues for 2016 are years behind schedule. It's nice that they have their priorities in order down there.

It takes time to learn a foreign language, but it is always possible to use English as a means of communication with the people from different countries, and it cannot be denied that it is considered to be an internationally popular language. (HTML deleted)
