Nick Kroll revisits ‘Pawnsylvania’ in ‘Destination Wedding’ skit

Last March, comedian Nick Kroll introduced us to “Pawnsylvania” on the heels of news that the Philly accent is slowly taking its leave of our be-hoagied mouths. Thankfully, though, Kroll kept it alive this week with “Pawnsylvania: Destination Wedding.”

Last March, comedian Nick Kroll introduced us to "Pawnsylvania" on the heels of news that the Philly accent is slowly taking its leave of our be-hoagied mouths. Thankfully, though, Kroll kept it alive this week with "Pawnsylvania: Destination Wedding."

This time around, Murph (Kroll's Philly-based pawn shop owner) finds himself traveling from South Philly to Ocean City, Maryland to finance a "water ice fountain" for his forthcoming wedding. Joining him, of course, is his cousin and Pittsburgh counterpart, Don.

Once the duo arrives in Maryland, they offer up a few items for sale, including what Don calls "Edgar Allen Poe Feet of a Crow." Naturally, that brings up the age-old Baltimore/Philly Poe beef.

"He wrote most of his good stuff in Philly," Murph says.

"He wrote his spookiest stuff in Baltimore," the Marylander replies.

"Yeah, because this city's a nightmare," Murph quips back. Don, for his part, chimes in with "He's from England."

Add in a John Waters poster, a Ray Lewis autographed fingerprint, and some Honus Wagner pre-owned cologne, and the boys soon reach their $425 goal to get that water ice fountain.

And while Kroll's accent is as good as ever, and there are tons of great Pennsylvania references throughout, the real takeaway is this: We as Philadelphians need to make water ice fountains happen. Just look at this thing:

A more Philly way to serve dessert there has never been.
