Model Chloe Goins sues Bill Cosby over alleged 2008 Playboy Mansion assault

Model Chloe Goins, whose criminal case against Bill Cosby is currently under review by Los Angeles prosecutors, has filed a civil suit against Bill Cosby in connection with an alleged 2008 sexual assault.

Model Chloe Goins, whose criminal case against Bill Cosby is currently under review by Los Angeles prosecutors, has filed a civil suit against Bill Cosby in connection with an alleged 2008 sexual assault.

Goins, 25, claims that Cosby drugged her drink during a party at the Playboy Mansion in 2008, after which she "immediately began feeling sick to her stomach and dizzy" before she "blacked out." At that time, Goins was 18.

When Goins awoke in the nude, she alleges that Cosby was "biting one of her toes as he crouched at the end of the bed" and masturbated. When he noticed she was awake, Goins says that Cosby simply left the room, leaving her alone.

"Ms. Goins at no time gave Bill Cosby consent to touch her body in any way, let alone in a sexual manner," the suit alleges.

Goins' civil suit, which was filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, runs through those same allegations, with additional summaries of some 40 other accusers' stories. As a result, the suit attempts to define a behavior pattern for the comedian in his alleged assaults. A similar approach was used with Andrea Constand's 2005 case, which was settled out of court.

"Today, I recognize that I've taken legal action that many of the other victims of Bill Cosby will never be able to take," Goins said in a statement. "For that reason, I offer this message to those brave women: Your experience was just like mine and mine was just like yours. We are not alone. We did not ask for these attacks. And these attacks are not our fault."

The suit is seeking punitive damages in connection with the alleged incident, including loss of self-esteem and mental anguish.

Cosby is scheduled to be deposed Friday, Oct. 9 in connection with Judy Huth's case, who also was a teenager at the time of her alleged assault at the Playboy Mansion. That incident allegedly occurred more than 40 years ago, though Huth has been able to pursue charges because she was 15 at the time and the statute of limitations is extended for minors.

Cosby has never been charged with a crime in connection with the more than 50 allegations of sexual assault against him. His lawyers have repeatedly maintained his innocence.

On Friday, some 27 of his alleged victims will be together in a joint interview on Dateline to discuss the subject.
